Oh, no. You have done it again. You liked a picture of your ex's new girlfriend from 2007. You start to panic, hyperventilate into a paper bag, and wonder if it is possible to crawl into a hole and never emerge again.

We have all been there, and, as embarrassing as it is to accidentally like a random person's picture, there is a way to get out of it.

You probably already do this any way, but you should unlike that accidental like IMMEDIATELY. Just make sure that you do not accidentally like another photo in your frenzy.

So, you are already fairly screwed because this person will get a notification on their phone, saying that you liked one of their posts. That was expected. You know this because weirdos have accidentally liked pictures of you and you knew they were stalking when your phone lit up and showed you an Instagram notification.

HOWEVER, as you also know they do not know which photo you liked. You are safe from humiliation as long as they do not open Instagram before you have unliked the photo. While there is no way for you to know if they actually saw it, you should simultaneously pray to all possible gods that they do not see which post you actually liked.

Let's say that they do see the picture that your butt, wrist, elbow, or any other possible place accidentally double tapped. I honestly do not have much advice for you. They probably will not bring it up to be honest, but, if they do, then they are tools. Always remember that you are a beautiful flower that should be loved and adored.

No need to start screaming and running around in a circle.

Speaking from my own experience, you should own up to the fact that you double tapped it. If you exude confidence, then that other person will stop talking about it, realizing that you have no sham, even if you are giving an Oscar winning performance, about the accidental like. Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can never hurt you. Neither can an accidental Instagram like.
