Sometimes when you are stressed, one of the most relaxing things you can do for yourself is to create art. This might sound childish to some, however art therapy has been used to help people with anxiety and depression for years. The rejuvenating, and "zen" results is something that everyone can truly benefit from. Pablo Picasso once said, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life," and he could not have been more right. Creating truly helps with healing the mind and spirit, and you won't know what that feeling is until you actually try it. 1. Adult Coloring Books

Adult coloring books have become somewhat of a trend over the past year, and we hope that it stays! This seemingly "childish" activity, has taken on a whole new form with adult coloring books that appeal to an older demographic with more adult themes. Zen out, turn on your favorite show on Netflix, and whip out that adult coloring book. You will feel a difference right away!

2. Scrapbook


Do you have a bunch of old photos and postcards lying around that you never wanted to get rid of, yet never knew what to do with? Making a scrapbook is the perfect way to calm your nerves, reminisce on the old days, and actually put use to all of old things you had lying around y0ur house.

3. Knitting or Crocheting


Knitting and crocheting is not just for grandmothers! Honestly, once you get the hang of it, both knitting and crocheting are extremely addicting and fun. The best part is, you will relieve stress and could also potentially find something you are really good at, which always feels amazing.

Pick up a shadowbox or heavy duty piece of wood and superglue, and then glue the corks into the shadowbox or wood, and you will create something beautiful. You will need at least 200 corks, so keep drinking!

Create a collage by cutting out photos, words, and quotes from magazines or by printing them off the internet. It is always fun to come up with a theme for your collage, like beauty, things that make you happy, movies, your favorite celebrities or role models, etc. It is fun, rewarding, and you might actually learn a few things about yourself that you never knew!
